Check These 9 Things

"I'm a chiropractor. I've sat in more massage chairs than I can count, and most of what's sold online isn't one. Here's what separates a real chair from an expensive toy — and how the Relaxe scores on every check."

The Showroom Is Rigged
That chair at the mall is set to its flashiest program on a busy floor. Three minutes, salesman watching, everyone walking past. You can't judge a chair that way, and the store knows it.
So people go home and buy online instead, which is worse, because now you're picking from photos.
Here's the thing almost nobody checks first: most massage chairs quit at your lower back. Cheap ones use a short, straight track, so the rollers stop halfway up. That's the number one thing people regret, and you cannot see it in a photograph.
Nine checks. If a chair passes all nine, it's real.
CHECK 1
Track Length. Ask It First.
The track is the rail the rollers travel on, and it decides everything else. A short straight track stops at your lower back. An SL-track keeps going — the "S" follows the curve at the top, the "L" continues under the seat, so the rollers stay on you from your neck all the way down to your glutes.
The Relaxe runs a full 53 inches

CHECK 2

4 shiatsu rollers + body scan
Rollers That Knead, Not A Pad That Buzzes
This is the difference you feel in the first ten seconds. Real shiatsu rollers press in and knead, like thumbs. Cheap chairs use a vibrating pad and call it a massage.
The Relaxe has four rollers on that 53-inch rail, plus a body scan that finds your shoulders and sets them to your frame instead of the average one.
Fair warning from an owner, and I'd rather you heard it now: "If you are looking for a light, feather touch massage, this is not for you. It really digs in."
CHECK 3
Heat First, Then Rollers
Order matters and most chairs get it backwards. A warm muscle gives; a cold one braces. The heated pads in the lower back come on before the rollers do their work, so everything loosens first and the massage lands deeper.
There's heat in the footrest too.

Carbon-fibre lumbar heat + heated footrest
CHECK 4

28 airbags, adjustable, zone-switchable
Count The Airbags
Rollers do your back. Airbags do everything else — shoulders, arms, hips, calves, feet. If a chair only lists rollers, it only does your back.
28 airbags on the Relaxe. Three pressure levels, and you can switch individual zones off from the remote.
CHECK 5
Does It Do Your Feet And Calves?
A lot of chairs pretend the lower half doesn't exist. Ask specifically — a lot of listings say "full body" and mean "your back."
The Relaxe has a foot roller under each foot plus calf airbags. It's the part owners mention most often and expect least.
One thing to know going in: on the highest setting the foot squeeze is strong. Several owners run it a level or two down, or switch the foot airbags off entirely and keep the roller. Both are one button.

CHECK 6

5’1”–6’4” · up to 330 lbs · 2” wall clearance
Will It Fit You? Will It Fit Your Room?
Two separate questions and both get skipped.
You: the Relaxe fits 5’1” to 6’4” and holds up to 330 lbs. The calf frame extends, so it adapts rather than assuming you’re average height.
Your room: it sits two inches from the wall to fully recline, and it rolls on built-in wheels. It’s not the monster you’re picturing.
CHECK 7
How Does It Arrive?
This is where a lot of online chairs turn into a weekend. The Relaxe ships fully assembled. No tools, no manual, no all-day project — you unbox it, plug it in, sit down.
Select in-home delivery at checkout and they’ll bring it into the room you want it in. Take that option. It’s a heavy box and curbside means it’s your problem from the kerb.

3 years, parts and labour
What Does The Warranty Actually Cover?
Warranty tells you how confident a company is. Parts only is a warning sign — labour is where the cost is.
The Relaxe carries three years, parts and labour, with US-based technicians. A company that expects the thing to break doesn’t offer that.
CHECK 9
Can You Send It Back After Actually Living With It?
This is the one I push hardest, because it’s the only check that protects you from being wrong about the other eight.
Thirty days tells you whether you like the novelty. It doesn’t tell you whether you’ll still be using it in March. You need long enough to get past the novelty and find out if it becomes a habit.
The Relaxe gives you 365 days. Use it every night for a year. If it isn’t for you, they arrange the pickup and refund the chair — you cover return shipping.
Never gamble on a chair this size. Don’t have to.

Most of the rows tie. That's the point. The Relaxe doesn't win on roller depth — a $10,000 chair with 3D or 4D rollers pushes deeper into the back than this one does, and I'd rather tell you that than have you find it out. What it wins on is everything the track decides, and the price. Same caliber of track, rollers, airbags and heat, because it ships direct. No showroom, no middleman.

"I'd never let someone spend two grand on a chair without knowing these things. No brand ranked them for me. After a lot of years and a lot of chairs, this is the one I'd put in my own house."

"I tried the expensive store bought chairs, and while they're great they're also around $10k. That's crazy! I was initially concerned to order this chair at 3k online without the ability to try it, but I said what the heck. I'm so glad I did."

The Questions People Ask Before They Order
2D rollers — they move up and down the track and side to side. They don't push in and out the way 3D and 4D rollers on $8,000+ chairs do. What this chair spends its money on instead is the track: a full 53 inches of coverage rather than a shorter one with fancier rollers. A 4D roller on a short track still never reaches your glutes. One owner put it this way: "For a 2D chair it really delivers what I wanted for a most reasonable price."
For some people at first, yes. There are three intensity levels, five manual techniques and three air-pressure settings, and most people spend the first week finding theirs. If the rollers feel sharp on your back to start with, a lot of owners put a thin cushion or a folded blanket behind them for the first couple of weeks. It gets easier as you loosen up.
Give it a week. There are 12 auto programs and a manual mode, and almost every owner says they were still finding new settings after a month. Start on F1 and work outward.
There's a voice control called Alice. It works for basic commands and it's inconsistent — some owners use it, plenty ignore it and use the remote. It isn't the reason to buy the chair.

It arrives assembled in one box, so it needs a clear path. Select in-home delivery at checkout and the team brings it to the room you want and takes the packaging. It's worth the $200 value, especially if you have stairs.
Use it as long as you like inside the year. If you want to return it, contact us and we arrange the pickup. Full refund on the chair, no restocking fee; you cover return shipping.

Of all of them, three decide it: a full-length track, rollers that actually knead, and a trial long enough to judge it at home. Sit in it for a year and let it prove itself.
