I tried a couple, and landed on one chair I loved.

This would be perfect for my Mom.

So I asked the sales person: how much is this one?

"That one's perfect for older adults," he said.

Eleven thousand five hundred."

I blinked. "$11,500... for a chair?"

"That's mid-range. Our premium models go up to eighteen thousand."

Something felt wrong. So I asked him: "How much does this actually cost to make?"

He froze. "Well, that's not how we calculate value. Japanese engineering, 4D rollers, exclusive features—"

"How much does it cost to make?"

He wouldn't answer.

I Spent 3 Months Investigating The Massage Chair Supply Chain

I was angry and confused. WTF is going on with massage chairs?

So, I contacted factory owners in China and Taiwan during my free time.

Talked to suppliers, manufacturers, logistics companies.

I had a spreadsheet with every feature and technical specification you could think of..

Asked the questions showroom salespeople pray customers never ask.

Here's what I found:

Showroom rent, dealer markups (2-3x), sales commissions (20-30%), and fake model variations.
